Description:

Kalakaua Park is named after King David Kalakaua, who designed the county building in the park at the end of the 19th century. Visitors should notice the inscribed sundial commemorating the king, as well as the statue of King Kalakaua that marks the spot where the original courthouse once stood. The park is located near the center of town, a short walk from the northern border of Wailoa River State Park.
