The historic Palace Theatre was originally constructed in 1925 as a popular movie house that featured performances by local celebrities, like organist Johnny De Mello. Today, the theatre still maintains the beautiful redwood columns from its original construction and shows independent and foreign films from all over the world. The theatre is located in the downtown area near the waterfront, just north of Lincoln Park.
